Passionate about Parenting!
That's the title of one of the Mothers'Union projects and we are very keen to help you do the most important job in the world.
We have eleven trained Parenting Facilitators across the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham and we are fortunate at St Mary's as we have two in our congregation;Lucille Porter and Maureen Rodgers. They have been running Parenting courses in various venues across the county;schools, prison, mother and toddler groups etc.
We want to promote an awareness of good parenting practices and to share ideas in a secure supportive environment.
For many Mums and Dads, one of the benefits of attending a group is the realisation that they are not on their own;many others are in the same situation as they are.

Who are the courses for?
Anyone who is interested in parenting; Mums,Dads, Grandparents,Carers etc.

What does the course cover?
What Children Really Need
Developing Emotional Security
Setting Loving Limits
Keeping Children Safe
We use Positive Parenting resources including a handbook,Time Out for Parents.

Aims of the group
Mothers'Union parents'groups aim to inspire Mums,Dads and carers to enjoy their children at every stage of development.
The groups are quite small,no more than twelve and the sessions usually run for six weeks.
