From Vicar Margaret and the Church Wardens
The systems we have put in place over the last few months to help us cope as a church during lockdown seem to be working fairly well.
These have including teams for visiting those isolated at home, the emailing of news sheets and compass. Also posting and delivering communications and news. We have been conducting pastoral conversations and prayers over the phone and conducting a Zoom service at 10.30am on Sunday mornings. Also we have conducted standing committee and PCC meetings by Zoom and at least one home group also by Zoom. We have also kept in touch with Family Centre user groups and updated them with any news.
As we look forward to the easing of restrictions the church and church hall are being prepared for safe reopening when this is needed and considered safe to do so within Government and Church of England guidelines. To prepare for this groups are being consulted and any rubbish is being cleared from the premises in preparation for a deep clean of the church plant by a professional company.
When these works are completed the church will be set up within all the guidelines and how to open and when considered by PCC.
Until this time all Church and Family centre activities will remain closed. We are hoping to be able to reopen St Mary’s Preschool in September along with the Dogs Trust Group. Further news and updates will be communicated in due course.
